German Middle ages Market! Mittelalter Market is a German version of a Renaissance fair.  

Join us for our  Mittaltermarkt at Hickory Grove Park on Saturday, October 15^th from 12pm – 7:00pm.

• Area arts and craft vendors.

• Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Our Middle Ages Harvest Fest recognizes the importance of the German Erntedankfest or German Thanksgiving celebrated after the fall harvest.

In the German-speaking countries, Thanksgiving is an autumn harvest celebration called Erntedank or Erntedankfest (“harvest thanksgiving festival”). The observance usually takes place in September or October, depending on the region.

Since this is close to Halloween and is a Middle Age related event, all workers, vendors and attendees are encouraged to dress up in period attire.  Basically any costume you might see on Game of Thrones, Vikings, Robin Hood, William Tell, Merlin, King Arthur, Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, the Outpost, or similar movies and TV shows.  Why wait until Halloween to dress up!

Food being served will include:

• bratwurst
• schnitzel sandwiches
• sauerkraut
• German potato salad
• Bavarian pretzels

  We will also be serving our “Uber Schnitzel” sandwich which features melted cheese and grilled onions with the pork schnitzel.

• Hot chocolate, hot cider and Glühwein will be available.   Glühwein is a hot spiced wine.
• Soft drinks, beer and wine will also be available.
• Ice Cream specialties can also be purchased.

Food will be served until 6pm or until it runs out.

Only service animals are allowed on the property during this event.  There is no ATM on site.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.
