German Sommerfest featuring Soccer and Eddie Korosa!

German Sommerfest 

Celebrate the beginning of Summer German-style!  Join us at the Peoria Sport Verein’s annual Sommerfest at Hickory Grove Park on Saturday, June 11th 12n-8pm.  This event features German food, soccer, German car and bike cruis’n, arts and crafts, and entertainment. 

This is a family friendly event.

Hickory Grove Park 12403 Hickory Grove Rd., Dunlap is just north of Peoria.

Complete dinner available as well as a la carte options.

Food will be served 12n-7p and includes:

• Pork Schnitzel
• Bratwurst
• Heidelburgers
• Hot Dogs
• German Potato Salad
• Sauerkraut
• dessert!

Eddie Korosa and the “Boys from Illinois” will be here from Chicago performing along with other local German entertainers:  the Lindenhof Echoes, the Alp Horns and Al’s Pals Polka Band.

Our German Kunst and Handwerk Markt offers a variety of handmade items from local handy crafters.   A German gift tent will be open offering a number of imported items from Germany for sale.  Many of these gifts are the perfect gift for Father’s Day!

A German Car and Motorcycle Cruis’n from noon to 5:00 pm.  Anyone with a German car or bike is encouraged to participate.  Admission is free.  The driver will receive a coupon good for one beverage or sandwich if you arrive before 2pm.

Other activities will include an air-gun shooting tent, bags, stein holding, and nagelspielen (German nail game).

Hickory Grove Park is at 12403 Hickory Grove Rd., Dunlap is just north of Peoria.

No dogs or outside coolers allowed during the fest.  Please follow social distancing guidelines.
