DESCRIPTION:German Sommerfest \nCelebrate the beginning of Summer German-style!  Join us at the Peoria Sport Verein’s annual Sommerfest at Hickory Grove Park on Saturday, June 1st, 12pm-8pm.  This event features German food, beverages, soccer, German car and bike cruis’n, and entertainment. \nThis is a family friendly event.  \nFree admission!!\nFeaturing:\n\nEddie Korosa from Chicago will be the featured artist. \nEddie Korosa and his band have been crowd favorites at our summer fests for many years! Other local German entertainers: the Lindenhof Echoes, the Lindenhof Echos (Alp Horns), and Al’s Pals Polka Band.\nA German Car and Motorcycle Cruis’n from noon to 5:00 pm.\nAnyone with a German car or bike is encouraged to participate.  Admission is free.  The driver will receive a coupon good for one beverage or sandwich if you arrive before 2pm.\n\nOther activities will include:\n\nSoccer Matches\nAir-gun Shooting Tent\nBags\nNagelspielen\nStein Holding\nGerman Merchandise Booth\nGerman Music\nKids Playground\n\nGerman Food and beer:\nComplete dinners available as well as ala carte options.  Dinners will be served from 12 noon until 6pm and includes\n\nPork Schnitzel\nBratwurst\nHeidelburgers\nHot Dogs\nGerman Potato Salad\nSauerkraut\nDessert.   \nSandwiches and Bavarian Pretzels will be available until 7pm.\n\n \nNo dogs or outside coolers allowed during the fest.  We do permit service animals.  We also have a drop off zone for elderly, handicapped and those with small children.  There is no ATM onsite.\n \n\nSponsored by Peoria Sport Verein\nat Hickory Grove Park\nHickory Grove Park 12403 Hickory Grove Rd., Dunlap is just north of Peoria.\n\nInquiries can be made to info@peoriagermans.net\n\n—\n \n
